On December 11, 2021, the Renaissance High School Drill team attended the drill competition at the Detroit Light Guard Armory. The day started off with a change of command ceremony, with our very own Jala Purofoy receiving the title of Corps. Commander. Then the Phoenix battalion cadets performed what they had been practicing for months; the let 1 squad, armed squad, armed platoon, and the color guard routines, along with inspection. The cadets also participated in Knockout, winning second in the let 1 section. Their overall hard work payed off because they came home with third in armed platoon and armed squad, second in inspection, first in let 1 squad and colorguard, and second overall. The cadets look forward to their next competition. -Ellis
